Spotlight on the 2024 Healing NET Summit

Global Collaboration to Explore Variations in Care was held April 26-28, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Participants were broken into five groups representing surgeons, medical oncologists, diagnostic specialties, Endocrinologists/G.I. & APP’s and patients/caregivers. Each group was tasked with providing a few major challenges in their respective specialties. The top four challenges identified:

Educating the next generation/access to mentoring
Access to competent care
Early multidisciplinary evaluation
Restoring access to remote services

WHAT
An invitation-only meeting held to foster conversation and to form a collaborative network of engaged professionals to envision the future of patient care.
HOW
Presentations and conversation provide insights into unmet needs in NET care. The lively interaction yields new ideas and approaches for providing care and meeting those needs.
WHY
Because of what we can accomplish through such collaboration and peer-to-peer education and networking. These meetings are the foundation for Healing NET programs, and participants often head back to their work with the inspiration to innovate.
WHO
Researchers and clinicians who represent a broad range of medical specialties and who champion nuanced neuroendocrine cancer care. Nurses, patient advocates, and representatives of the supporting industries.
