Care Excellence: Survey of American NET Centers for Self-Assessment by Established Criteria
Background
At the 2018 Healing NET Summit, a task force of physicians from Europe and the United States discussed whehter American centers could reach consensus regarding excellence in the care of patients diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. The faculty recommended self-assessment by U.S. centers against the Center of Excellence criteria of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS). The survey was written and delivered to twenty-five U.S. centers recognized for NET expertise in order to create a picture of the care landscape in America.
The Survey
Nineteen NET centers participated between October 2018 and May 2019, and in October 2019, Healing NET presented results from our “Advanced Neuroendocrine Center” survey at the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS) Annual Symposium.
